Happy Child!

My Current Read Is:

He really covers all possible methods of sleep training, organized by age. He refers to a ton of studies
and also uses parent testimonials/examples. I have just read up through 6-7 months and highlighted the
things that stood out to me. Every single thing I highlighted has helped so far. Earlier bed time, dad
helping soothe, going outside between every nap, room darkening curtains, keep naps regular, don't get
him out of bed before 6 am except for 1-2 feedings if necessary, wakeful periods of 2 hours or less.
(Which means he is down for a nap every other hour). Sleep begets sleep, if he's wired, he's tired. It is a
very all-encompassing book, so it allows you to find your own way but still teaches best practices
according to studies. Love it! And it goes all the way up through adolescence.

Some Upcoming Reading Goals:

Les Miserables
Covenant Motherhood By Stephanie Dibb Sorensen

Wooden Letters for Evan's Room

I cut these out a while ago with my dad, as a result of never being able to find a font I liked at the craft store. I finally painted them yesterday, and I love them!

Thought of the Day: On Faith

By Faith All Things Are Fulfilled

" If strong and securely attached to the "rock of our Redeemer," faith will help us to safely climb the gospel path, overcome every challenge of mortality, and return to the majestic presence of our Heavenly Father. All things are fulfilled by faith."
-Elder Marcus B. Nash

I especially love his use of "Lead, Kindly Light." It has always been one of my favorite hymns. The line, "one step, enough for me" is very indicative of the kind of courage we must sometimes demonstrate in giving our burdens to the Lord and accepting His timing and will. That is what trials of our faith are all about, knowing that God has in mind a high plan for us, and will not lead us into sorrow, but to happiness and joy beyond what we could ever dream for ourselves.

A Fresh Start

I needed a fresh start in the blogging world, a space all my own. Here you won't see much in the way of family news, but you will see ME.

There will be recipes, patterns, quiet books, home projects, craftiness, gospel study, personal improvement, baby care tips, books I've read, running and fitness, Family Home Evening lessons, beauty tips and general other "Me" things I do when I am not feeding or rocking a baby to sleep. A lot of them will hopefully be things I have done after being inspired by the hours I have already spent on Pinterest. I need to use those pin boards!

So, I hope you'll enjoy this Me space as much as I do- It's one of the ways I am working on improving myself so that I can improve my family life and home.

Il fait frais aujourd'hui!
